Solid Tech, Solid Communications

Joseph C on July 17, 2018

I live in a rural area where one would not expect to get anything except satellite or maybe a poor cellular data connection. DigitalPath was able to find line of sight to a local tower on the top of one of my trees on which they installed an antenna. I work at home and use the internet intensively, mainly Remote Desktop, VoiP/Conferencing and Email. High bandwidth is not a requirement, but low latency and stable uptime are a big deal. My first few weeks of service i experienced regular dropouts and loss of service which would cause painful work interruptions. I worked with their tech support to troubleshoot the issue and they determined the cause was likely with the antenna/tree equipment. The climbers came back out and after a second trip up the tree, my connection has been stable with zero drop outs for over 2 weeks now. I have been on the phone several times for various reasons, each time the wait time was reasonable (with audio prompts telling you how people are in the queue before you). In addition they update their initial tech-support greeting with today's date and a summary of known outages. This morning I woke to a service outage, I called the support line and learned right off the bat that there was an outage in my area and included an estimate time of service restoration. No need to even speak to a tech. I headed into town and worked at a coffee shop and after returning home I am writing this up using my DigitalPath connection. These guys are top notch at communication and the service is just what I need for working in the tech world from the middle of a forest. A+++ I am on the 10 Mbps / 2 Mbps plan which is delivered as advertised. One other thing to note. If you plan on relying on this kind of service the way I do, you should consider that this kind of technology is heavily reliant on atmospheric conditions. Plan to have a backup if you have any mission critical tasks that depend on the internet. If you have line of sight and these guys can't make it work, you probably need to explore other options.

About Our DigitalPath Speed Test Tool

Whether DigitalPath is your internet provider or you use a different provider, the speed test below can show key statistics about your internet connection.

Use our speed test to check the capability of your broadband connection whether you use DigitalPath or another provider. The dials above will return statistics for download speed and upload throughput. Download and upload throughput are the main signs of Internet quality. As of January 2022, DigitalPath’s average download rate is 6.76 Mbps. Across their coverage footprint, the average latency on DigitalPath Internet speed tests is -1ms. In context, terrestrial connections generally perform in the 5–70ms range. Satellite broadband connections, in contrast, can be as high as 500–800ms.

Download Speed and Latency Test

Get a precise, real-time read of your speed with this simple test, it can measure the performance of your connection regardless of who is your current internet provider. The BroadbandNow team recommends consumers regularly check their internet's performance as it fluctuates regularly and can identify when you need service support or when your household's usage exceeds your current plan's capability

Note: This speed test can be used to test any internet provider, not just DigitalPath .

If your DigitalPath speed test result is lower than expected, try resetting your router or call DigitalPath customer service for additional assistance.
