Like most cities in the U.S., Jacksonville has one major cable provider and one major telecom provider, and each has service pretty much all over the city. For Jacksonville, we’re talking about Xfinity for cable and AT&T as the telecom provider.

The big question in Jacksonville is this: Do you live in an area where that telecom provider — AT&T — provides new fiber internet connections, or are you in an area where it only offers DSL internet (which AT&T calls “IPBB”)?

47.1% of Jacksonville is covered by AT&T’s fiber-optic internet network, so there’s a decent chance that you have access to it in your area of the city.
