Best Internet Providers in Jacksonville, Florida
The best internet provider in Jacksonville is AT&T Fiber. Fiber internet is the fastest and most reliable type of internet you can get, and AT&T Fiber is Jacksonville's only fiber internet option. With AT&T Fiber, you can get top speeds up to an eye-watering 5 Gbps, which is more than the typical household would ever need. However, AT&T Fiber also offers plans at other speeds, with prices starting at $34 per month. Even the most basic of AT&T Fiber's plans is extremely fast by broadband standards.
After AT&T Fiber, your next-best option for home internet in Jacksonville is Xfinity. Xfinity is Jacksonville's cable internet provider, and it's available just about everywhere in town. Like most cable providers in most cities, Xfinity pretty much has a monopoly on the cable network — don't expect to get cable internet from any other company in Jacksonville (though Jacksonville does have other internet companies that use connection types besides cable). Xfinity's bundles start near $40 per month and include additional services such as TV, home phone, mobile phone, and even home security. Xfinity's internet-only plans also start at $40 per month, but some of them may come with a contract (something you never have to worry about with AT&T Fiber).
There are a few other ISP options in Jacksonville, such as EarthLink, Verizon 5G Home Internet and Florida High Speed Internet, but these fixed wireless internet options pale in comparison to their wired internet counterparts in the city. If you want the fastest and most reliable internet, you should choose AT&T Fiber or Xfinity. Otherwise, one of these alternatives may fit your lifestyle.
Another alternative worth considering is T-Mobile 5G Home Internet. It transmits signals between a cell tower in your area to the gateway device in your home, allowing you to experience download speeds up to 415 Mbps. These speeds are more than enough for most online activities, including but not limited to streaming, video calling and gaming. Plus, T-Mobile 5G Home Internet plans are affordable, with prices starting at $50 per month.
| Provider | Why they're great | Who they're great for | |

|
| T-Mobile | Easy installation | T-Mobile 5G Home Internet is perfect for customers who want to skip the technician and get online in minutes with a simple, app-guided setup. |
|
| Verizon | Excellent bundle savings | Current Verizon wireless customers can slash their bills and maximize their savings by combining their mobile plan with Verizon 5G Home Internet. |
|
| CenturyLink | Straightforward pricing | Customers who value predictable, flat-rate monthly bills without the anxiety of hidden equipment fees will find CenturyLink ideal. |

Fastest Internet Providers in Jacksonville, Florida
Of all of the internet companies in Jacksonville, AT&T Fiber provides the fastest internet connection. Offering speeds up to 5 Gbps on its Internet 5000 plan, AT&T Fiber's symmetrical connections provide both the upload and download speeds you need to stream, game, and work from home without any interruptions. Moreover, AT&T Fiber doesn't come with data caps, and you get the AT&T Wi-Fi Gateway with Wi-Fi 6 and the Smart Home Manager app at no extra cost.
Of course, not every household needs internet speeds in the multiple gigabits per second (Gbps). Just 1 Gbps is plenty in most cases, even with heavy internet usage. A good internet speed is 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps — that will get you all of the bandwidth that you'll need in order to do things like stream live TV and play online video games, even if you have lots of internet users on your Wi-Fi at once. For smaller households with less intense internet needs, 250 Mbps should be plenty — and some households can get away with 100 Mbps or less, though you shouldn't expect speeds like that to feel "fast."
If you don't have access to AT&T Fiber at your address, then you should consider Xfinity for its download speeds reaching up to 2 Gbps. That said, while Xfinity has great download speeds, you won't get the quick upload speeds you find with AT&T Fiber. Instead, Xfinity's upload speeds only go up to 200 Mbps. Of course, this is still enough for most activities, but you may find some bottlenecks for 4K streaming or using numerous devices in one household. Also, Xfinity has a data cap of 1.2 TB in Jacksonville, meaning you could face data overage charges if you exceed your limit.

Internet Availability in Jacksonville, FL
Like most cities in the U.S., Jacksonville has one major cable provider and one major telecom provider, and each has service pretty much all over the city. For Jacksonville, we're talking about Xfinity for cable and AT&T as the telecom provider.
The big question in Jacksonville is this: Do you live in an area where that telecom provider — AT&T — provides new fiber internet connections, or are you in an area where it only offers DSL internet (which AT&T calls "IPBB")?
53.0% of the city is covered by AT&T's fiber-optic internet network, so there's a decent chance that you have access to it in your area. As is often the case with these new technologies and major residential providers, the weakest part of AT&T's network is actually the commercial areas downtown. West Jacksonville is another area with pretty spotty coverage, and there's still work to be done near the airport, in places like Jacksonville North Estates. There are another couple of weak spots in Empire Point, on the south side of the Hart Bridge; and in San Marco, off to the west of Philips Highway.
But in just about every other residential area of Jacksonville, AT&T's fiber network has a pretty good presence. There's some availability in Springfield, and the network is especially strong up in Garden City and the Highlands. Duval, Jamestown, and Oceanway are all in AT&T Fiber territory, too.
The Arlington area has a lot of access to AT&T Fiber, and so does East Arlington. The whole area around the University of North Florida is pretty well-covered, too, so expect to see AT&T Fiber as an option if you live around there.
And if you can't get AT&T Fiber? Well, then you can just turn to Xfinity — it covers 98.2% of the city, meaning it's available at virtually every residential address in Duval County.

Frequently Asked Questions About Internet in Jacksonville, Florida
Methodology
Our provider rankings rely on a rigorous, data-driven framework evaluating over 100 million rows of FCC data to bring transparency to local internet options. We track 8,000+ active plans from 2,000+ providers to cut through marketing jargon. We weigh technical factors against real-world experiences to match you with the best connections actually available at your address:
- Tested Technology: We utilize a fiber-first ranking system, prioritizing high-performance, structurally sound technologies (like fiber and cable) over slower legacy connections.
- Realistic Coverage: We filter out "ghost ISPs" with near-zero availability and actively flag providers that only cover a fraction of neighborhoods, ensuring you don't waste time on unavailable options.
- Transparent Pricing: We track base rates and downgrade providers that rely on hidden fees or sudden price hikes, exposing the true long-term cost beyond initial marketing promotions.
- Verified Speeds: We look beyond deceptive "up to" marketing claims to evaluate the actual download and upload speeds delivered, prioritizing the balanced, symmetrical performance necessary for seamless video calls and heavy streaming.
- User-Driven Personalization: We don't just look at the tech; we look at what people actually prefer. By analyzing millions of local connections, user reviews on downtime, and validated J.D. Power scores, we tailor our rankings to highlight the providers proven to satisfy users in your area.
