Best Internet Providers in Orlando, FL

Orlando's best internet provider is AT&T Fiber. AT&T actually offers two types of internet in Orlando: Fiber internet (AT&T Fiber) and IPBB internet, which is similar to DSL (AT&T Internet). The one you want is AT&T Fiber, which offers lightning-fast speeds up to 5 Gbps and has plans that start at $34 per month. AT&T Fiber is a top internet provider choice across the nation, with the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) awarding it the No. 1 fiber internet provider spot with a score of 80 out of 100 in 2024.

Another excellent option is Quantum Fiber, Orlando's other fiber internet provider. While it doesn't have the greatest coverage in Orlando, it does offer the fastest speeds up to 8 Gbps. Also, Quantum Fiber receives excellent reviews from customers across the board, and it offers Wi-Fi 7 connectivity on its fastest mult-gig plans. On top of all that, Quantum Fiber provides Price for Life on its plans, meaning you don't have to worry about price hikes (unlike you do with Spectrum). It's hard to go wrong with either of the city's two fiber providers. If you can get either of them, you'll be in good shape!

If fiber isn't an option for you, we recommend one of the city's two cable internet providers as a fallback. Unlike most cities, Orlando is served by two different cable providers. If this makes it sound like you have a choice, however, prepare for disappointment: Spectrum serves 92.5% of the city, and Xfinity serves 29.4% of the city, and there's virtually no overlap between the two. Expect to find one — and only one — of the two cable providers available in your area of Orlando.

While we don't recommend them as highly as we do AT&T Fiber and Quantum Fiber, we do consider Spectrum (with speeds up to 2 Gbps and prices starting at $30 per month for 12 months) and Xfinity (with speeds up to 2 Gbps and prices starting at $40 per month) to be solid options in Orlando. If you can't get fiber, consider these cable providers before you consider DSL, 5G home internet, or satellite internet.

If you prefer a wireless internet provider, we recommend T-Mobile 5G Home Internet. With 5G technology, it utilizes cell towers in various neighborhoods to deliver an internet connection to a gateway device set up in your home. Its download speeds reach up to [speed-high p="tmo-5g"], which is enough for the everyday internet customer. Plans start at [price-low p="tmo-5g"] per month, making it an affordable alternative.

Provider Why they're great Who they're great for
AT&T Reliable network Customers who need a rock-solid connection that stays stable even during the busiest evening hours will find an excellent choice in AT&T Fiber.
Spectrum Cheapest provider Spectrum is ideal for budget-conscious shoppers looking for entry-level plans that offer reliable everyday connectivity at an affordable rate.
Quantum Fiber Fastest provider Large households and power users who need high-capacity speeds for activities like 4K streaming will find an excellent choice in Quantum Fiber.
Xfinity Widely available Customers in [city] and beyond who want a highly dependable internet option will appreciate that Xfinity maintains a huge nationwide network.
Verizon Easy installation Customers who want a fast, plug-and-play setup with a simple self-install gateway will find Verizon 5G Home Internet perfect.

Orlando Cheapest Internet Plans

Finding incredible internet value in Orlando starts with Metronet and its $29.95 per month initial rate. Our top overall choice, AT&T Fiber, costs a bit more at $34 per month but delivers immense value. If Metronet is unavailable for you, Spectrum provides a fantastic alternative from $30 per month.

Fastest Internet Providers in Orlando, FL

When it comes to speed, Quantum Fiber is the fastest internet provider in Orlando. Quantum Fiber offers speeds up to 8 Gbps, surpassing even AT&T Fiber in this regard. While AT&T Fiber does have a few extra add-ons and promotions than Quantum Fiber (such as wireless services, extenders, and even gift cards or discounts with your purchase), Quantum Fiber comes with a Wi-Fi 7 certified device on its multi-gig plans, while AT&T Fiber only offers Wi-Fi 6.

The truth is, however, that most customers don't need speeds of multiple gigabits per second (Gbps). A speed of just 1 or 2 Gbps is already blazingly fast and more than enough for most households (in fact, for some households, even 500 Mbps can feel very fast). Households with less demanding internet needs can get by with 250 Mbps or — in some cases — even less, though this won't necessarily feel "fast" to customers.

We'd recommend shopping for speeds in the 500 Mbps — 2 Gbps "sweet spot" unless you have very demanding home internet needs. And don't forget about your Wi-Fi router, which needs to be fast enough to communicate those speeds to your actual internet-connected devices!

Internet Availability in Orlando, FL

Orlando has more major internet providers than most cities, but you won't necessarily be able to choose between all of them. Depending on your area of Orlando, your cable provider may be Spectrum or Xfinity, and you may have access to fiber internet from Quantum Fiber or AT&T Fiber.

On the fiber internet front, you can expect to find Quantum mostly to the northeast of Downtown Orlando — it serves neighboring Winter Park and its coverage gets past the city line and into neighborhoods like Baldwin Park. You may also be able to get Quantum near the city line College Park, in the north of Orlando. Quantum serves areas to the west and south of Orlando, too, but its footprints in places like Winter Garden and Horizon West don't actually reach into Orlando proper.

AT&T Fiber, for its part, is strongest in the southern and western parts of Orlando. Look for it in neighborhoods like South Orange, near the medical center, and over in Englewood Park and Ventura.

On the cable front, you'll find that Spectrum serves virtually all of Orlando proper. Xfinity, on the other hand, is found mostly around the fringes, including in the narrow strip of Orlando that connects the city to its airport, near Conway. If you have an Orlando mailing address in this area, you'll probably have access to Xfinity.

Methodology

Our provider rankings rely on a rigorous, data-driven framework evaluating over 100 million rows of FCC data to bring transparency to local internet options. We track 8,000+ active plans from 2,000+ providers to cut through marketing jargon. We weigh technical factors against real-world experiences to match you with the best connections actually available at your address:

  • Tested Technology: We utilize a fiber-first ranking system, prioritizing high-performance, structurally sound technologies (like fiber and cable) over slower legacy connections.
  • Realistic Coverage: We filter out "ghost ISPs" with near-zero availability and actively flag providers that only cover a fraction of neighborhoods, ensuring you don't waste time on unavailable options.
  • Transparent Pricing: We track base rates and downgrade providers that rely on hidden fees or sudden price hikes, exposing the true long-term cost beyond initial marketing promotions.
  • Verified Speeds: We look beyond deceptive "up to" marketing claims to evaluate the actual download and upload speeds delivered, prioritizing the balanced, symmetrical performance necessary for seamless video calls and heavy streaming.
  • User-Driven Personalization: We don't just look at the tech; we look at what people actually prefer. By analyzing millions of local connections, user reviews on downtime, and validated J.D. Power scores, we tailor our rankings to highlight the providers proven to satisfy users in your area.
