Great customer contacts
The original phone contact was great. Had to reschedule install. That went well. The line Installer was courteous, and responsive to our concerns. The inside installation was also great. Internet connection is robust. Thanks, guys!

Reliable and fast network, getting service and dealing with problems is a pain .
GVTCs network is fast and reliable. They have done a great job. Network consistently provides the speed I pay for and it rarely has outages. Getting service connected or dealing with problems on their network is always a long drawn out process but worth it once it is resolved.

Advertised speeds are only for a select few - not typical!
The only internet service they offer in our area is a 1.5 Mbps DSL. I get that speed occasionally but my typical speed test result is about 0.3 Mbps in both directions. Pages take several minutes to load. Video streaming is all but impossible most of the time. A few months back I uploaded a 20 minute HD video to youtube and the upload took several days. So it's woefully slow. I asked how much it would cost to run fiber and they came back with an aid to the construction cost of well over $200k! So it's very slow and poor value for the money. I'm actually using a 4G hotspot now to watch videos and it's easily 10x the speed at about 3-4 Mbps. Of course, the trouble with the hotspots is you have data caps. Other than that the customer service is good - I have had very few outages and the times that I did have issues they sent a technician out right away and they were very friendly and helpful. I put 5 stars for customer service and 4 stars for reliability. If anything the reliability issues we had is that the service is so slow that data connections simply time out.
