ICS Advanced Technologies

We moved to Ankeny 5 months ago and still do not have reliable internet. We have been complaining to ICS since the first week. It took them 5 months to listen to my complaints and send a tech to take a look. We pay for 50/50 speeds through our apartment complex. I run speed tests regularly and speeds clock in usually less than 10/10. Using the speed test on this site at this time of this review it clocked at 3.50Mbps. The tech told me that any devices that use 2.4 networks are stuck at these speeds. My phone is less than 2 years old and it roams in the apartment. My laptop has 5G but gets kicked off the 5G networks. I straight up asked if there was anything they could do on their end in terms of equipment and they said "no". There is only one Ethernet port in the apartment so a wired connection is impractical. I find it unbelievable it took 5 months of complaining and that there is nothing more they can do. I find it unacceptable that speeds of less than 10/10 when quoted 50/50 are acceptable.

I'm happy with my service, actually really happy. I've had not one outage since a major lightning storm early this spring. My property manager provides 20 Mb per bedroom - ICS service. But, my last place also had ICS and it wasn't that great. My neighbors complained and I wasn't impressed. Well, come to find out (after the property manager finally admitted it to me) they were only buying 5 Mb per apartment. (3 roommates were sharing 5 Mb - of course it's not going to be great. But people complained about ICS and not even know that it's not their fault) All in all, I'm pleased. The speed is good, their support staff was good when I need help connecting my X-Box and I would definitely recommend them.
