Nelsonville TV Cable

At one time I would have said yes, this is a great service, but the more I am with them I noticed that the UPLOAD speeds are just horrible. Half the time I only get 4-5Mbps out of 15Mbps if I am lucky. Download speeds really decent, but a lot of times you won't get the 100Mbps you pay for, or even close to it. 20Mbps most of the time, but there are those peak times when they get better. It drops out and down a lot. Customer service is polite, however, but if you have options I would recommend looking around if you are big into streaming movies, or gaming online. Unfortunately due to a contract that was put in years ago, I can't go to another service other than wireless, which again is not good for gaming either. The price is a bit high, $85 for 100Mbps, which you never get, but unfortunately, other places offer much lower and more, just can't get it.

Great speeds and good customer service but don't try to game on it because it usually goes off all the time.

Nelsonville TV & Cable is owned by the Edwards family who also owns Movies 10 and the Fun Barn. The fact that the Edwards are very community minded gives them an extra star in my review. With that said, the TV service is quite good despite the fact that their cable boxes are antiquated and need frequent replacement but the reliability is pretty good and the channel selection is as good as it could be. The Internet is a different story. It is a bit pricey for being somewhat slow and unreliable. It almost always works and it is way way better than dial-up although it is not instant. I actually have lost two different work from home jobs due to an unstable internet connection. During my work, it would go out for periods of time or just long enough to lose all my connections and whatever customer work I had in progress. Despite all of that I give the company thanks and appreciation because they immediately sent someone out to my home on a few locations to see if they could remedy my problems; they even ran a new wire from the pole to my home. They really tried but their internet just isn't up to work at home standards but unless you have certain hi-spec requirements it is more than adequate. The best part is that the TV and Internet are provided by a company that truly will try to work out your challenges and in case you have a limited income - they will even work with you giving you payment flexibility beyond what the big companies would give you. Pretty good TV, not the best but not the worst Internet. Good people, good to our community, good company. Unless you must have instant internet I would go with Nelsonville TV and Cable.
