1.2
OverPriced with unrealistic Data Caps
They are way overpriced compared to other ISPs. The service you receive is subpar and most of the time you don't come close to getting the speeds you're paying for. I pay $142 for just internet and should be getting 101Mbps but most of the time only receive 55Mbps. The network that they run can't handle the number of subscribers they have so their solution is to impose unrealistic data caps and for my package, I get 750GB a month but, anyone with a PS4 knows that you can burn through that in just a couple days. I would stay as far away from this company as possible.

Overpriced with extra fees on top
I moved to an area a little over a year ago where Shentel is the only internet service provider. They’re prices are ridiculous ($100/mo for 25 Mbps when I signed up)- and that’s just the base price. They also cap your data usage like an old cell phone company and add more fees when you go over it, so no HD Netflix. On top of the high cost, the connection is unreliable and speed is inconsistent. All around terrible.
2.8
Decent Service. Bad loyalty to customers.
I had unlimited internet for $34.95 per month. They notified me that it was no longer offered and switched me to 250 GB per month and raised the price to $45 a month. So $10 more dollars for going from unlimited to limited. No grandfathering was available. No human contact was provided. Just a pop up while I was surfing to let me know. The speed is as advertised and the service is reliable, but I still fell like they gouged me on cost a bit.
4.2
Happy Customer
I have recently upgraded to the 50Mbps plan and am very happy w/ it. Have been a customer for 2 years and can only remember 1 day of downtime. I do recommend that you ask the Customer Service line every possible question and about all charges. I've caught them a couple times telling me there would be no charges and then charging me. However, in both cases, they agreed to honor the no charge inside on a single phone call. Very friendly and personable.

Wasn't bad until..
It has been stable with decent customer service, but way overpriced for the speeds available. Now there is a data cap.
