If you live in the famous borough of the Bronx in New York, or if you’re planning on moving there soon, you have several internet providers at your disposal. Due to their widespread availability throughout the borough, we recommend checking out if Verizon Fios, EarthLink, or Optimum is available at your address.

While Verizon offers DSL and 5G internet options in the Bronx, your best option is its fiber internet service: Verizon Fios. It dominates the Bronx area, reaching 82.7% of the addresses throughout the borough. It’s likely available if you live in the Riverdale region near Spuyten Duyvil and Kingsbridge along U.S. Route 9; it’s also likely available if you reside in the East Bronx in one of the many communities like Willliamsbridge, Edenwald, or Eastchester along U.S. Route 1.

That said, Verizon Fios does have some areas where its coverage could be better. If you live near Belmont and University Heights in the West Bronx region, you may need to look for an alternative fiber internet provider such as EarthLink. The same thing can be said for the neighborhoods surrounding Yankee Stadium, where Verizon Fios has spottier coverage compared to other ISPs.

If you want a cable internet provider in the Bronx, you should consider Optimum. While it only offers 37.1% coverage throughout the borough, it tends to cover areas where you might not find Verizon Fios or EarthLink. Remember how we said Verizon Fios has less coverage in the West and South Bronx regions? Well, if you live in Morrisania, Highbridge, or any of the communities underneath I-95 in the Bronx, you probably have access to Optimum. You’re also likely to have Optimum if you live in any of the neighborhoods surrounding the Bronx Zoo, as well as the spots near Pelham Bay and Westchester Square.

However, it’s not all optimal with Optimum, as it does have some coverage gaps. If you live toward the North Bronx into Wakefield and Mount Vernon, you may not have access to Optimum. You may also notice some empty spots in coverage near North Riverdale when it comes to Optimum.
